The Reviews it is getting are incredible.

95% on Rotten Tomatoes and 90 on Metacritic, Metacritc being the more impressive number of the two.

care to put these in perspective for someone who is not too familiar with these sites? i'm assuming not many movies get ranked that high?

A 90 on Metacritic is pretty much incredible. Rather then rattle off recent movies because I do not know what you liked and didn't, look here:

Poke around and see what other films you may like are rated.

The recent reviews are on the left hand side.

Here is the main page of Rotten tomatoes:

Rotten Tomatoes

You can see that many movies do not even come close to a 95%. I put more credence in Metacritc because it uses a better grading system and more well known critics but both are good.

Edit: Right now Borat is the 36 rated movie ever on Metacritic. Take that for what it is worth. The movie review industry is substantially different now. However, that is an awesome rating for a flick. Also keep in mind there are still quite a few reviews that have not posted yet.

Talented Mr. Ripley only got a 76. This is my tester movie to see if a scale is accurate. Boo.

Also the search on Rotten Tomatos yields this:
