Re: B&Ms are rigged
I don't think I've ever (purposely) posted a bad beat post, so here goes!
I had been playing at Rama in their 2/5 game on a Sunday afternoon. Around 2pm I decide to move up to their 5/10 game, which is populated by some pretty tough players, since there's only 25 people in the cardroom and 5/10 is their highest limit currently spread. (The games normally pick up around 3pm or so). I think my bankroll around this time is something like $1500, so for me to even sit down isn't very wise, particularly at a tough, tightish table. However, I'm up like $90 so far from the 2/5, so I do it. I'm playing above my limit, though, and my image to this point has been pretty weak-tight.
Across the table from my is a retired cop, who's wearing a Bellagio shirt. With my stereotypical foot-in-mouth habit, I make a joke in reference to the "I came to Mexico and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" shirts, and say, "I lost $10,000 in Vegas and all I got was this lousy t-shirt." No reaction. Tough crowd, tough crowd.
A little while later, it's folded to this guy. He's in MP3, and I'm in the BB. He raises. I read him on a steal, and reraise with Q3s. He calls.
Flop comes up KQ3r. Cool. I bet out. He thinks and raises. I hesitate, getting pretty nervous about him having KQ, or a tricky KK/QQ. I three bet. He calls.
Turn card is a 6. I bet, he raises. Now I'm really hating my hand, but I three-bet. He calls.
River is a 6. He says, "Nope, nope, that's not the card I wanted to see." I say, "You didn't want to see that?" He says, "Nope." I say, with a big smile on my face, "Well, me neither, so I check." He bets and I call.
He says, "Full house!" Turns over 63s. Then he proceeds to say, "Making fun of my shirt? My daughter bought me that shirt. [censored] you, buddy!"
I say, "Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you. Nice hand." And turn over Q3. He gets really quiet.
