Default Re: Treasure Island SunCruz in Florida

For anyone wondering about the SunCruz in Treasure Island it is CRAP. I went on it about 3 months ago and it was just a complete mess. The only previous information I had heard about it was that they run different games on different days. Holdem was fri and sat, mon was omaha, etc. pley they had hold 'em tourneys on different days.

I went on the ship (which max. persons holds about 6) in the afternoon cruise on a saturday. I went to the poker "area" which consisted of 2 tables that looked like they were pulled from the rubble of a demolished Vegas casino. I asked what games they would be having and i was informed that today their game was 7-card stud 1-10 with 20 max on 7th street. I asked if they would be having any other games on their other table but they told me that they only had 1 dealer and because their "regulars" wanted to play 7card, that was going to be the game.

The ship set sail and when it reached time to begin play, the dealer finally returned to the table to hand out chips and set-up, wasting 15-20 minutes minimum easily. But a positive was that the game was really easy

So in summary, In my opinion I would not waste my time and effort driving to the Treasure Island SunCruz unless they have completely re-done their whole organization. If anyone knows of changes please let me know.

I didn't see this before I posted, but I've always called ahead and talked to the guy who is in charge of the poker room(he also deals as well his name is Bill, an older guy who tells lame jokes). With my call ahead he has always let me know the game and how many players he is expecting and it has always been true. Also yes the atmosphere is a little grimy, but I'm not one to care too much about the whistle and bells a poker room has to offer.
