But if you meant historically or in recent years you cannot include the Dodgers. They have been successful recently, historically and because of their great farm system there is reason to belief they will continue to be successful.
I think that the Marlins are increadibly well run. They understand very well that because of their payroll they cannot compete every year and cannot afford all of their stars players once they reach free agency. Thus they get good value for players about to become free agents, and 'sell off' the team in order to put them selves in a position to be very competative with cheap young talent every couple of years.
This Marlins team is going to be very good in a couple of years because of their large amount of very good cheap young pitching. Other teams try to keep some of their star players, over pay for them and do not put themselves in a position to ever be competative.

Exactly! I actually think they might be the best run organization in all of pro sports. I can't believe that they were mentioned as one of the worst.
