Default Re: Where I Tilt, and Spew, and Suck Out

[ QUOTE ]
See my NC post on a few pages ago, the one where I hit the rush.

I was seriously considering giving up poker (seriously, but not for bonuses/fun) during the downswing.

When you cap preflop with KK and build a huge multiway pot and a guy with Q4o who cold called 3 bets preflop catches runner runner 4's to win the pot you just think "Why bother? What's the point? etc."

Variance is a biatch.

I had given up poker... my September was such a lousy month and I was so tired of losing to 2-outters, yada yada. I'm sure we've heard it all before.

Tried to come back once before and was doing well until a -35BB night (I know, no big deal really) where I got sucked out a number of times pissed me off and sent me to the showers again.

Getting the itch again, and trying to come back again... sigh.

Then this happens last night:

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Flop: (4 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)

But later...

And he complains about it. I say, 'Payback for that set of 9's'. He says, 'I had you preflop on the 9's, genius'.

'I had you preflop, genius.' Who is this guy, Phil Hellmuth? So when you're ahead pre-flop you can completely ignore post-flop odds?

Lessee... his chances to improve with the 9's was about what, 9.6% (from PokerStove), and my chances were 11% (again from PokerStove, but I was at least closer to correct odds on my flop/turn call than he was, and I wasn't terribly sure I was beat)?
