Default Re: need a cool guitar solo

the album that Scofield and Metheny did together (I forget the name) has a blues in Bb on it (again I forget the name), and Sco's solo is awesome....not too difficult or fast (though there might be a couple fast Sco-ish runs), but very tasty and hip and bluesy, etc....I remember after transcribing it, I really took a lot from that solo....

the solo on Mark Whitfield's "Blues From Way Back" off "The Marksman" CD is pretty cool....the first few choruses are really old school and nice....the end goes into typical Whitfield bebop flurriness, but it's cool if you don't know him that well.....

also, I really got a lot out of transcribing Chet Baker, particularly "There Will Never Be Another You"....just so beautiful and melodic....
