I can't spend much time on this right now but beware there is a movement among floorpeople from the old days (some of who are now in management) to resurrect the old "you win" rule from the LA lowball days and/or the pre 1997 rule books typically used by the big clubs. I'm *generally* against this given the ease of misunderstanding or mishearing verbal declarations in noisy, crowded card clubs in a town where hundreds of languages are spoken.

PS I'm generally a quiet player too, although I do have chatty periods, like yesterday when I sat next to a guy who seemed as knowledgeable about movies (excuse me "film") as you. One time I'm especially quiet is on the showdown, except to point out my hand simply and exactly when it is the winner and the dealer seems not to notice.
