Default Re: Official *Party Screwed Monster Seat Holders* Thread

I've never seen so much guessing and assuming and hypothesizing. It looks to me like you guys got lucky, and that Party paid out on a nice overlay.

[/ QUOTE ]

So because there are a lot of different estimates and there was an overlay, we should be just be quiet and be happy with whatever Party arbitrarily decided we should get?

[/ QUOTE ]
That's your personal strawman, so please go build it up and tear it down in private.

[ QUOTE ]
90%+ of the estimates on this thread have Party paying out $6 - $7 Million, and most of the analysis on this thread concluded that the fair payout would have been $14 - $24 Million, or at the very least $9.4 Million (if they pulled out the $5M seed money).

[/ QUOTE ]
We need real numbers for the payouts, not guesstimates. You reference 90% of the people who chose to comment - but that's probably less than 1% of the people who have read this. And it's totally ridiculous to expect them to pay the $5 mil, given they were victimized. They laid out a business plan in good faith, and the US Govt kicked them in the rear. You can't even begin to imagine they cost they incurred. And still they stood up for their customers and paid a nice overlay.

[ QUOTE ]
Seems to me like there's a minority saying "quit whining you should be happy you didn't get $0" or "Party paid a fair amount" (with little to no analysis to back it up). Meanwhile, the majority who do show some analysis & some basic math & assumptions conclude that Party underpaid by 30-75%.

[/ QUOTE ]
As I just pointed out, the huge majority is silent. Perhaps they appreciate the generous overlay?

[ QUOTE ]
As has been stated ad nauseum already, yes Party could have screwed us even worse and paid $0, and yes what was paid was an overlay. That's not the entire point. Party advertised a much larger seat value / overlay, reneged, and now refuses to answer questions about how many seats they paid $s for or how/why they only paid $6 Million.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nice to see you realize you had a very nice overlay, generously honored by the big victim. Too bad you don't appreciate it - and even think it's worth complaining about.

It's too late for you to start fresh, but you should have taken a different tack. Instead of going in with guns blazing, and an annoying "I'm right, you're wrong, and here's the proof" attitude, you should have gently attempted to ascertain the facts, and approached them openly. It might not have worked, but it wouldn't have been guaranteed to fail.

Now you can't back down gracefully if you're wrong, you can't get any satisfaction if you're right, and you won't get the info you need if it's unclear. Because you blew your best shot.

Too late now to do anything but learn the obvious lessons - if you choose to.
