i'm gald you pointed this out. The whole "he has to get him" argument is bull. This contest isn't taking place in the wild, its some finite area. The 2 animals will eventually have to meet for one to win, so the ability to catch the other is not really important unless the animal has a prior engagement he's late for.

But... no one here knows how fast a hippo is out of water. Can the tiger just circle him and claw at him every once in awihle until the hippo bleeds to death? Can the tiger jump on the hippos back and tear into his throat?
Until someone can clarify how agile a hippo is on land, these questions will go unanswered.
