uhh, how is Be7 any better than Bc5. Bc5 gets the same bishop out into play on a useful square. Be7 does the same thing except it only attacks along a currently useless diagonal.
curtains is undoubtedly going to O-O. why not really develop this piece and then following w/ O-O ourselves?

hmm I see your point about the useless diagonal but with Bc5 aren't we leaving it out there undefended? I dunno much but it seems that we wouldn't be gaining much of an attack, and we'd have a loose piece out there

it would be undefended for the time, yes. but keep in mind there is nothing currently attacking that square either, so we're fine. curtains will most likely go 9. O-O, we can play 9. ...O-O. if he develops Be3, we can always protect w/ something like b6 or Qd6
