To quote a famous libertarian, deserves got nothin' to do with it. I certainly know they could have afforded to send their kid to a better school if half of their income wasn't confiscated.

Yes, you seem to be. I didn't say it would be better to buy a new car rather than invest in their child's education. I said that their capacity to do either has been involuntarily diminished, through taxation, so that I could sit around and simulate accretion disks. I realized this was immoral, and quit.
