1. How many people played B&M before the internet explosion?

2. How many people play B&M now?

You're probably going to argue that this is due to Moneymaker and the TV poker explosion just as much as it is due to online. I would argue that TV poker is driven by online poker since that is where the majority of the ad revenue comes from. You take away the ad revenue, and the networks won't put it on.

1. I don't know
2. More than before

I have no need to "past post" an explanation for an event that has already occurred. In fact no matter the reason there are indeed more B&M players now than beofre the internet poker boom, there we agree. All we seem to disagree upon is whether or not I will see more of these (former) internet players at my tables now than if internet poker continued as in recent history. For the life of me I really don't see how to express my reasoning other than with an analogy (which is somewhat flawed as they all are, but still apt):

Just like a heroin junkie who wakes up from his opiated stupor to discover his dealer that delivers directly to his apartment has been busted he will actually put on clothes, leave the safety of his apartment and brave the cold cruel world to seek out a fix. Now even though he finds that the local stuff available to him is less potent and doesn't give him his preferred adrenaline rush he still makes the purchase to satisfy his needs.

Replace heroin with poker , replace dealer with online poker room , replace stuff with B&M poker room and you have my reasoning.
