Nich, I can't believe Atlanta is so cheap. That place is beautiful. It looks similar to our place in the Virginia suburbs and ours was more that twice that.
As to the mortgage. We sold our rowhouse in DC and used that to make the downpayment. When we moved to DC we had PMI for a few months and the value of the house had increased enough to make it unnecessary. I miss the housing boom.
