the critique of Steves analogy is focused on something the analogy wasnt intended to be compared to.

It was meant to compare the TEMPORARY increase in active support for an unjust cause that incites its proponents to action because they feel their cause is being threatened. Once the initial surge of supporters for the unjust cause runs its course the just cause becomes more and more the prevailing wisdom.

The analogy had NOTHING to do with any Democrat position re entry or exit from Iraq or the war on terrorism in general, so trashing the analogy on that basis is a non sequiter.

I dont understand why this thread is even alive, since the representation of the report was a total fabrication.
