20 is just too good a hand to risk splitting regardless of the dealers upcard. Even if you were counting cards, you would need a pretty big edge to make splitting correct vs. a dealers 6 or 5.

Think about how often you will a) bust on one (making it a push) b) bust on both c) make a worse hand, that is beaten on one or both.

In most single-level counts, +5 or +6 would be plenty to split tens on. This will never happen online, as they shuffle too frequently to ever let the count get that high.

When done in a casino, ( if you can get away with it), these plays are among the top 6 most profitable plays a BJ counter can make, (Insurance being #1).
