So do a lot of Americans. We know much more about Europe than Canada, on average. It's more important historically, and also much more interesting.
However, I still wouldn't be able to name province / states in any Euro country.

Don't you think it's different naming provinces in Canada compared to provinces/states in some random European country. The provinces are huge and they are right there bordering your country. One of the guys in my fantasy baseball league lives in Seattle so he knows where Vancouver is, but he doesn't know what province Edmonton and Calgary are in. That boggles my mind.
North America has 3 countries. (not including Greenland) [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img], and Canada has a few HUGE provinces.
I can understand someone living in El Paso not knowing where Winnipeg is, but when high school students in Minneapolis, Seattle, etc. can't name provinces that border them that is truly pathetic.
