As a fellow alum, I can back Wayfare up on this.

My guess is that the OP either also applied to Harvard, or read this recent article in the New Yorker about Ivy League admissions.

Princeton was a place where students of both genders put a great deal of effort into their appearances; a much higher proportion of students dressed well and had their weight under control than on most campuses. Dear Old Nassau may not have had as many naturally attractive people as many big state schools, but the average person in the Princeton environment ended up looking much better than the average person somewhere else.

As a current student, I can agree with both scrub and Wayfare on this one.

Also, the fact that everyone starts calling it "Old Nassau" after graduation really amuses me; I don't think I've ever heard a student use that phrase.
