Samoleus can play 50% of his hands at NL2000 and be one of the biggest winners in the game. I think for mere mortals something like 32-33VPIP is about the maximum you can play profitably. The key to playing so many hands is superior hand reading skills. My hand reading sucks so I stick to about 20 VPIP.

To elaborate on that, how does it affect opponents if you have seen some one playing this way ? Would opponents over-react and start pushing their marginal hands ? Do they really notice at 50, 100 NL ?
Finally, a lot of 2p2ers pride themselves (from the way they write their posts) at following (supposedly) perfect stats. Will they look at me like a donk and is it +EV ?

And get PT already, it's the best investment you'll ever make.

I have PT just didn't have it setup in my current home.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question, but I don't think you need to worry about anyone adjusting their play to exploit whatever weaknesses you may have at 100NL and below. Some good players will, but those players are few and far between.
As for your stats, there's a big difference between 40/10 and 40/30. If you're 40/30 I probably don't want you at my table, but if you are 40/10 I definitely don't mind you there. Just get ready to be brutally assulted whenever I have position on you.
And TBH, from my experience, a lot of 2p2ers really overestimate how good they are. I wouldn't worry too much about how 2p2ers play against you. Worry about playing vs. fish and taking their money instead. If your table selection is good you shouldn't have too many 2p2ers at your tables anyway.
