Default Re: OT: The Throwing vs Hitting Tennis Bet

why does everyone think the guy catching is at such a disadvantage? A tennis court is big and you are allowed to pivot and fake throw, think about it people, you are gunna run that poor guy with the raquet to death. I cant hit a tennis ball for [censored], but I sure as hell could throw one pretty accurately. And with a glove?? fo get aboud it

First, try catching a tennis ball hit ~120Mph hit directly at you. Then try catching it 8-12 feet in either direction with about half a second to react. Then come back in here and restate.

I have a hard time seeing anyone with a solid serve and good tennis skill losing from racket end. Hard for me to tell once it gets to volley, it seems a fair amount more can be done from the catch side, but the serve is the bitch of the bunch.

well ive never faced down a serve of that magnitute so Im just guessing. But anyway, my point is that I dont think its such a disadvantage to be the guy with the glove, because once you catch it, I think youve got a significant edge.

I think its one of those prop bets that sounds super awesome and suckers people in quick, then when it comes time, you find out you prolly shouldnt be playing for even money.
