I wish I knew what people actually did day to day in different jobs and what real career paths were like in different careers and how to get there. I think that info is pretty easy to find by talking to people and reading/researching on the Internet and in books.

Hmmmm... There's a lot of stuff I know now that I didn't 10 years ago, but not much comes to mind that I would have wanted to know in advance. Learning by experience is largely what life is about.
