I walk some, but I live in an awesome neighborhood for that. I live in an apartment building in a Central Business District for a suburb with 40k people.
The likely reason why you drive more is that you live in a neighborhood where there is nowhere close to walk to. This is one of the things about modern society that piss me off: developers putting 300 homes in and no stores within walking distance. You walked more when you were a child because you lived in a neighborhood where there was stuff to walk to.
