Re: core 2 6400 vs amd 64 x2 4200

I REALLY screwed this post up. The Core 2 is obviously more expensive. The price of a built system is close to $300 more for the Core2(other things in the system close to equal).I think this is due to "new factor". The price of the processor and motherboard is, however, only about $120 more for the Core2.
So, my question are: Is it likely that the price of the AMD built systems will come down more in the near future? (I dont think the price of the built systems has been lowered to reflect the much lower chip prices.)
It seems like it would be worth the extra $120 if I was building the system, but I am not very confident in my limited computer skills. The $300 difference in price seems like a bit too much unless the AMD will become obsolete much sooner.

Get the Intel, even if it costs more. I have the AMD 3800+ but all I do is poker or watch movies. For this it works just fine, I'm going to be using this for 1-1.5 years max.
The new Intel can be overclocked to way outperform the AMD 4200+. You'll have way more cache, a faster processor, and more potential. The $300 difference shouldn't be much if you want this to last you a good 5 years. I don't know anything about AutoCAD, but AutoCAD 2007 going to be more a lot more demanding system wise?
