You are wrong about how much this show would cost to produce. Players are paid more than $1500 per hour not sure on the exact figures but Daniel mentioned them in his blog.

There would be huge post production costs in editing etc. over 11hrs of footage from 10 or 11 different cameras. Per playing day. Also the sound post would be very complicated to mix and balance from so many different mikes, ie each player has one and then others capturing atmos etc.

Also the crew would cost at least $2000 per hour than per show. Depending on size and experience.

Look now I got carried away. But this show is not as easy or cheap to produce as you might think. There are hundreds of hours and costs that would go into a production this size. From the catering you can see behind the tables to the production hours liasing with the players, and the palms trying to negotiate timetabling, payment, releases etc.

TV aint cheap.
