I feel like this needs its own thread, unless it's been discussed here already. If there is a standard, but incorrect pronunciation of a non-english word, is it better to pronounce the word in the American fashion (bru-SHetta)
or try to say it "properly" like an native speaker? Cuz I bet if I ordered bru-SKetta around a lot of my friends they'd think I was a douchebag. However they are idiots.

And does it change depending on the setting--it's ok to try and roll your Rs in a mexican restaurant in mexico but at chi-chis you should probably just say torTIya...???
