Just on this part of the question...you should read HEPFAP after the other three. SSHE is WAY more applicable to the low limits you'll play in (and I play in). But re-reading HEPFAP last month gave me new perspective on plays that I can use (mostly when to raise and why or why not). They've come in handy in my 3/6 & 4/8 casino games.
A lot of it will be wasted on weak opponents (ones who don't pay attention or really know what they're doing), but there's good stuff to take from it.
