What in the world is a young-earth creationist?

Similar to a Flat-Earther. A YEC is someone who rejects virtually all of science, and thinks the Earth is only about 6000-10000 years old. (We know for a fact that the Earth is about 4.55 billion years old.)

Are you serious? Anybody got a link to some proof that Negreanu believes this?

I remember reading one of Barry Greensteins old posts about this, so its very probable

That's a wild thread. Greenstein is an atheist, huh? That's surprising, but to each his own.
I'm a Christian, but I don't try to impose my beliefs on others. These types of beliefs are very personal, and I respect the rights of others to believe as they wish, even though I may think they are dead wrong. However, I do believe that there is a lot of truth to the old saying that there are no atheists in a foxhole. LOL
Barry Greenstein is obviously a very good person regardless of his religious beliefs or lack thereof. If Daniel Negreanu believes that the earth is younger than 6,000 years old, I think he's wrong, but he certainly has the right to believe that. You don't have to completely ignore indisputable scientific proof in order to be a Christian.
I will say this about Daniel. You can't deny his skill as a poker player, but from watching him on television and reading some of his stuff on FCP, I used to think he was kind of a pest with an ego far too big for even his amazing poker ability.
However, I was on the rail right next to the table that he was playing at in the Main Event last Friday night, and I was surprised at how nice and unassuming he was. Sure he's a very intense player who constantly jabbers at the table, but that's his style and it works well for him.
At one point, he basically yelled at the dealer when he thought she was about to do something wrong, but he immediately and repeatedly apologized to her for raising his voice and explained why he was concerned about what she was going to do.
What impressed me the most was that, during a short break to deal with some logistical issue, Daniel came over to the rail and just hung out and talked to the railbirds like a normal person. If you didn't know who he was, you would have thought that he was some internet qualifier who was just having a good time. His actions during that relatively short period of time greatly increased my opinion of him.
Barry and Raymer were like that, too: just really down-to-earth, first class guys. I think both Daniel and Raymer have acted childish about this lawsuit. I mean come on, who wants to get down on the level of somebody like Annie Duke? However, they are human and humans often don't act like they should act. They are still both good people.
However, this is another unfortunate side effect of this ill-advised lawsuit. It is splitting the professional poker community apart at a time when everyone should be united and fighting our government instead of fighting each other.
