But you should consider 400nl.

yea I was going to move up to $400's permanently 3 months ago. At the time my $200 earn was around 8ptbb/100 I then had a massive consolidation where my earn fell below 6ptbb/100(now its ~7ptbb/100-which in my opinion is still lame)-this really freaked me out and made me stay in the $200's. Fact was I had stuff to work on and I'm doing it right now. I've studied and datamined the best players. I havent taken a coach on but thought about it plenty.
I started to mix in $400's starting 2 months ago -I'm up like $2.5K on less than 5k hands but I've held back.
I'm ridiculously over-rolled no doubt.
I just hate to have a mediocre earn at a lower level and move up and only make just a bit more but with 75% higher standard deviation.
If I can do 4+ptbb/100 in the $400's thu you are right I should move up even if the swings are bigger no doubt about it. It's all mental really-
It's really lack of confidence to be honest. I only feel confident beating any level when I beat the crap out of it. This is a bad mentality to have if you want to move up quickly.
One thing with me is my goals have always been just to make consistent good money rather than focusing on playing higher.
If I managed my time better and spent more time working on my actual play ie studying and posting more I'd be 1-2 levels higher I know it.
I think I've fallen into the trap of being a moderately succesful poker grinder-been playing for a living 5 years and acheiving moderate income goals ie first $50K a year then $75K now $125K a year hopefully on towards $200K/+ years consistently but in general my goals have been pretty pedestrian at least ie 2+2 standards.
