Default \"The Ninth Day\" DVD Movie Review

Don't miss this film by director Volker Schlondorff. It is based on a true story. It's a political Nazi thriller about a Belgium Priest named Kremer who was caught helping the French resistance and was imprisoned in Dachau concentration camp. The Priest is given a nine day leave to go to Belgium to persuade the Bishop to go along politically with the Nazi occupation. If he succeeds, he will be set free.

This is not your typical Nazi movie, but it is about Nazi politics and shows how in reality nothing really changes when it comes to occupations by foreign countries.

The movie features the music of Alfred Schnittke who died a few years ago.

Don't miss this one. DVD features an interview with the director. Movie is in German with English subtitles.

I rate this movie [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] out of 4.

Happy Viewing
