Re: Gold from mid/hi

It's a very wierd experience for me. I'm use to having an emotional confrontation at the end of a session where I said, "He'll yeah 2K dollars" or "Ah it's only 30 BB". But now, there is nothing to look forward to or be afraid of. It's very strange.
Also, one of my goals is to not let the game affect my personal life. This becomes trivially easy when you don't know how you are doing. I'm in San Diego on vacation right now and I just had a wonderful lunch with my wife. I put in 3 hours this morning and W$@SD 46%. I'm pretty sure I'm down but not knowing numbers frees me and allows me to focusing on enjoying my day.

I couldn't agree with this more. I covered up my results last week and it ended up being my best week at 5/10. This is my 2nd week doing it and I'm not sure exactly how I'm doing, but I think I'm playing really well (and running well).
Just like Krishan, I really struggle with letting my poker performance/results dictate how the rest of my life is going. If I'm running bad I'm really not any fun to be around. Things begin to snowball as I become so obsessed with my winrate, that's all I seem to focus on instead of how I'm playing.
I used to cover up my P&L as a daytrader. I don't know why I never thought of this before. I highly recommend.
