Haha yes this is true. My mom (who is the nuts at writing...as well as my dad and especially my sister) had a weekly column in the Oakland Tribune that was sort of a "slice of life" piece. She'd write about normal things in the life of a middle-aged and middle class married woman with a family. One week it would be about having to fix something in the house and the next it'd be about the goofy (but completely awesome) haircut I got (that article won her a few hundo actually).
It was mainly in the mid/late 80s and early 90s when she actually wrote about me and none of this is linkable stuff unfortunately. Actually I have read basically none of what she wrote about me....but she has the actual newspaper clips somewhere at her house and I should copy the ones about me - I think either writing them up or just having them to show hot batches or my eventual kids would be sweet.
