I don't speed and I have no sympathy for those who do and whine when they get caught. Sorry.

You seriously go exactly the speed limit or under?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. Seriously. If the speed limit is 70, my cruise is set at 69 or 70 mph, not one mph over. My question is simply, "why speed"? For me, getting somewhere 5 minutes early is not worth the cost of the ticket and the increased cost on my insurance.

[/ QUOTE ]

The problem with that logic is that you don't get a ticket every time you speed. Speeding on the highway saves me 20 minutes a day, and if there is less then a 1 in 500 chance I will ever get a ticket on that stretch, I'd be shocked. I've never so much as seen someone pulled over on that stretch in 2 years. So is it worth it? For me, yes.

Another thing that has always amazed me about following the speed limit, is how many people are so appalled by it and so willing to bash you for it. I can't think of any other law that people are so happy to admit they break and are almost aghast that others don't. What do you gain by me speeding? Ridiculous.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't have any problem with people going the speed limit. Well, unless they are sitting in the high speed lane for no reason.

The OP and his girlfriend are breaking the law. They took the risks, now they are suffering the consequences.

[/ QUOTE ]

This may come as a shock so prepare yourself.

Some laws are stupid . I feel no obligation to follow such laws, and feel those who don't follow them have done nothing wrong.
