First of all, congrats of making it this far. I know alot of people said it already, but I figured I would as well.
Advice-wise, if you have a good report with your primary care physician (and health insurance I suppose), I would absolutely consider making an appointment and telling him/her your story. Alot of good things can come from this:
-He/she gives you a perscription to possibly make things somewhat easier as you cope with the emotional effects of quitting. IMO, this is much better than possibly more self-medicating with alcohol, which you hinted at...
- They could probably refer you to a psychologist who's equipped to deal with whatever you're going through. This could be good with helping you quit, as well as possibly get to any underlying issues regarding why you started to smoke so much. People have mentioned this, and I think it's a great idea. Some good therapy would probably help.
