Overall Dell's laptops certainly aren't built to the highest standard, they just pack alot of punch and features for a small cost. Don't be surprised if you run into problems with the physical aspects of a Dell: hinges, latches, plastic housing, keyboard, trackpad, etc. But if you want alot of features for <$1k your options are fairly limited.

I've heard this brought up a number of times, yet Dell laptops are still highly recommended by lots of 2+2 users.
What other options do you suggest (that can do at least 1600x1200)?
