Default Re: I switched from PP to WSEX full time today

first off,

a great big thank you for the site. I really enjoy the games, the rakefree mentality, and the effort that you've put into the software and support.

I play primarily at WPEX and PokerStars, though lately I've been running about 70% WPEX 30% Stars. Your site has pulled me away from Absolute completely.

In my opinion, Stars has some of the best software out there, and WPEX still has a lot of catching up to do if they intend to meet the high bar that they and others have set.

I'll just do a quick list here.

things I like about WPEX:

)rake free
)Pokertracker supported
)the greyed out folded cards (cool shiny for bad players)
)speed when the server's really going
)rake calc in the cashier window
)instant link to sportsbook from poker room (with appropriate balance already available

things that stars does better than WPEX:

)number of players and bad players
)Instant HH window (great for quick hand posts to 2+2)
)HH to hard drive
)consistency of speed of hands being dealt
)variety of games
)ability to upload avatar pics (great for spotting bad players and its a cool shiny for any player to mess with)
)correct blind structure when headsup - the current WPEX system discourages HU action and hence tends to break up shorthanded tables prematurely. some of us have managed to adapt and incorporate this structure into our HU games, but many of our most profitable opposition would prefer not to play headsup in this structure, costing us an opportunity.

The bottom line for me is that your site's ability to deliver non-shady rake-free poker has effectively lured me away from lots of other great sites out there. If Stars decided to go rake free though (or even 85-90% rakeback) I would end up back over there almost full time because of the quality of thier software and players.

I commend WPEX for what they have accomplished to date. I wish you continued success and I hope that you continue to improve your software and playerbase. I know that a tipping point exists in out there where it would become the biggest no-brainer ever to play almost exclusively at a rake-free site. That tipping point exists in the number of players that are actively at the tables at any given time. If you can manage to reach a certain threshold, this thing will snowball and we'll all be a bunch of really happy guys.
