How does this principle apply to violent crimes, such as murder, rape, or robbery?

Not equating them in terms of discrimination law, obviously, but just curious if the logic extends to all laws that attempt to coerce social interaction.

Also, do you know the history behind the Civil Rights act? I couldn't imagine anyone who doesn't, but this thread has me wondering if many of you ever heard of segregation, Jim Crowe, Rosa Parks, white and black water fountains, MLK, and the like.

While I don't agree with many of their viewpoints, I not only support everyone's right to free speech, I'd risk my life protecting it.
