Default Re: A few thoughts on rascism / affirmative action

[ QUOTE ]
The law is interfering with my choices in who I can associate and trade with.

I have a problem with that.

[/ QUOTE ]

The law only interferes with who you can *discriminate* against.

Why do you have a problem with that?

How does a law that requires you to treat everyone *equally* interfere with your choices? Is it your intention to treat one race or religion with prejuidice, thus that motive is now being interfered with due to a law that requires you to treat them each equally?

[ QUOTE ]

Your reading comprhension skills (or lack thereof) are showing once again. I never once said anyone was forced to hire anyone. I said it interfered with my ability to make choices.

[/ QUOTE ]

So you think businesses should have the ability to openly and intentionally discriminate on the basis of color, religion, and gender?

Is that seriously what you think? Maybe I'm missing something here....are you coming at this from some wacky racist angle, or are you one of the ACers who is just against any kind of law that might restrict your complete and utter freedoms, even when it comes to allowing open and intentional discrimination?
