I'm generally associate myself with my swedish blood, but after going back and spending some time in europe I was constantly confronted by people who were confused at this idea of ancestry. See, most europeans have been in their country for a heck of a lot more generations than you or I have been in America. So to walk up to some kid whose family goes back to year 1000 and burning and pillaging the norman coast and all that stuff, and you say you're Swedish too, you get a funny look. Even after trying to explain it to people, it never seemed to be understood in the way we talk about it in the states.
Anyway, guess what I'm trying to say is that I find that this whole question of where your blood is from is a strictly North American intersest.
