Default Re: drugs

I don't know why you have to preface the drugs as illegal. They are, but I don't think that has a lot of bearing in most people's enjoyment of them. All it does is create an artificial barrier to their use through social stigmatization.

The government has little place dictating personal morality, and drugs are a perfect example of them doing just that. While it depends on your point of view whether they should be regulated or not, there are many more dangerous and less enjoyable things that are widely accepted in N. America.

I like taking drugs for the experience they give you. Just like some people like to travel to experience a new place, a similar thing can be said of drugs. But that new place is somewhere I already know intimately: my mind. I have realised things about myself and the world that I would have taken a lot longer to figure out without drugs. The change in perspective on myself is educating and satisfying. The entertainment of an intense psychedelic is incomparible.

I'm guessing that nearly everyone who does drugs (at least when they start) does so for similar reasons. They want to change how they feel or how they think, and drugs provide an accesible way to do that. Feeling shy? Drink some liquid courage. Tense? Glaucoma acting up? A little dope should do the trick. Life's got you down? Watch your worries melt away like a spoonful of heroin.
