i've had the same problem of goin far often but not being able to have big cashes,i used to play conservative from the beginning to the end of an MTT.Since a couple months i've open up my game especially when antes kicks in and i've seen major improvements in the results.

I like these advices from Strassa2 btw
1.Play your best game
2.Expect to lose

also reading HOH1&2 is a really good thing it can only benefit.
