Give me a hypothetical law suit that would be filed against 2p2. Mind you that something like OOT exists on almost every forum everywhere, and very few people get sued. I think this risk is way overstated, although in some sense I agree with you about the future of OOT.
Also lol @ continuing to mention the financial aspect of moderation, since very few forums pay their mods. This should be a non starter.
Guys- for all of you freaking out about Elaine being offered a modship, keep in mind that Dynasty was and still is a mod.
