I dont know about Japan, and in Germany a public poll might have been very high on patriotism out of fear.
[/ QUOTE ]Yes. A significant number of Germans in the 1930s, the majority perhaps, were feverishly nationalist. We can safely presume that the nastionalists were patriotic.
And you believe those Germans were being patriotic out of ...fear ??
Wow. Care to offer anything that supports this extraordinary argument? I mean, you would be upending the consensus of historians, Germans and non-Germans alike, as well as putting the lie to the figures of election results; no small feat.
