Wow, great ideas here.
The Dark Tower series and Martin's Song of Fire and Ice would make for amazing HBO series.
And oddly enough 1fog, a friend of mine who films documentaries and sports events had actually looked into the possibilities of doing The Long Walk as an artistic (meanging cheap) film. Unfortunately well into discussions we hit the stumbling block of trying to find, at the least, 6 competent teen actors who could work for next to nothing. It's still a dream of mine, but likely won't happen.
