I think the key to this thread is that it wasn't just mainstream nonmeat food being offered. It sounds as if it was extremly unordinary food. I agree that if the host had brought out normal food void of meat then there'd be no reason for a post, but if the food was extremly creative vegetarian crap I think there can be a reason to be upset. There's no reason they have to serve you meat, but the least they could do is have something edible.
