I am a little bit more on your side than the rest of the posters but not by much. I definitely think it was rude of them to not mention the fact that the meal will be all vegetarian. Regardless of how hard they worked to make the food they need to understand that a good portion of the population cannot stand that [censored].

I do think you should eat the food simply as a matter of courtesy. I would try a little of everything. Maybe that will spread out the bad taste.

That said, you cannot rule out the possibility that these people are the radical types and like to prosthelytize guests by forcing them to eat rabbit food. Did they constantly ask you how the food tasted?
