Default Re: Ceasars poker room--stupid is as stupid does!

[ QUOTE ]
Hi fishhead:

Perhaps I'm missing something, but isn't a dealer's job roughly the same whether it is a ultra high limit game or a much lower limit game? You seem t be saying that when you deal an ultra high limit game, that you deserve and are entitled to a much higher wage (mostly in tips) than you are at any other game.

Following through on your logic, why doesn't Caesar's (or any room for that matter) increase the wage of dealers who are dealing in the higher limit games. Furthermore, continuing with your logic, it seems to me that you are also saying that dealers make far too much when they deal low limit games.

As for dealers being pulled out of the box, I have made that exact request on a few occasions in my poker career. Usually the cardroom turns me down, but there have been times when they agreed and the dealer was given a break.

best wishes,
Mason

I think you took it wrong Mason. The guy got ONE (1) $18 down. The others were 5-8 bucks. I dont say they/we should get more because its a ultra high limit. But certainly not LESS!! ESPECIALLY since they want the best dealers.

4-5 years ago I was pulled out of the main lineup to deal 1 particular game only along with one other dealer. Archie (you know the Archie I mean) was being backed by Becky Behnens husband (his name escapes me) in a 800-1600 game. I made $12 for my 7 downs in that game while "lesser dealers" were making a regular nites wage in the rest of the room. After the 2nd nite of this (all the managers were afraid to talk to Mr Behnen) when the game ended, we went straight up to Mr B. We thanked him for his confidence in us to deal the game well, and explained to him that while it was a compliment, we still had rent and bills to pay and we were only there to make a living. We explained that it cost us 40% of our weekly income to deal his game. We didnt have to say any more. He started taking black chips out of the rack and apologized profusely for us not getting toked. I believe all it took was to approach him in a respectful manner as equals (to a point) and he was very standup about it.

I cant count how many times I've dealt the big game flawlessly and walked out holding "air" in my hands. I know I'm speaking for every dealer that has ever dealt that game thats worth his salt as a dealer. Just dont stiff us. We're here trying to make a living. You toke $25 for a freaking drink. Is a redbird per player at the end too much to ask? There are 2 players in that game that do just that about 50% of the time. IF THEY REMEMBER, and are in the room when you leave.
