Default How Much Of A Jerk To My Wife Was I?

Alright, some backstory:

My wife is the yin to my yang. I'm all about money and power, she's all about butterflies and rainbows.

She's a night owl, I'm the early bird. I'm the brains, she's the heart.

So, I make more money than she does and work more hours. I pay all the bills, and as such, take 66% of her paycheck (which doesn't cover half of the bills, so I pay more than my "fair share", so to speak)

Anyway, we had a trip to Foxwoods that was coming up, and I presented her with two options.

OPTION A I let her keep 100% of her next two paychecks (she works 18 hours a week and typically brings home $150-$160 after taxes)

OPTION B: I still take 66% of her paychecks, but I give her $300 for the Foxwoods trip.

Now, mathematically, it's better for her to take the $300 cash, since she will still get roughly $40-$50 from each of her paychecks on top of that.

So I know which option is better, but I also know that math is not her strong suit. And just like I expected, she added her two paychecks up, and they came to about $315 total, so she took that instead of the $300 cash plus 33% of her paychecks.

Of course, when I let her know she chose wrong, and also did not allow her to get the better deal (hey, she already made her choice!), she claimed I was a jerk and I tricked her.

I had a good laugh anyway.
