All this bravado is all well and good however....

If the 'rule making administrator' is the gaming control board and your using your phone in a room with a line-of-site to the sports book, then it is a just rule regardless of how poker players feel about the 1 in 1000 call that could be an emergency.

Even if it is merely the poker room and no sports book is involved, if it is their rule then you need to follow it or play somewhere else. 999 out of 1000 calls are not emergencies and for those 999 calls, 99.99% of the people answering them at the table are slowing the game down.

I feel for anyone who gets an emergency call but using the potential for getting one as an excuse to take phone calls at the table is not justified.
