I'd go to the best hotel in town, have my best friend pretend to be my lawyer, manservant etc. and explain to the hotel manager that his very important and rich client required the utmost security and privacy.

This is far worse than anything I've said. How this doesn't get flamed is beyond me!

You've got to be kidding. Get a sense of humor. We're all bs'ing over a hypothetical that in all likelihood no one replying will ever have to deal with so have some fun and stop being so serious.
I'm not sure what part of my reply offends you. Many people require anonymity and hotel managers in the best hotels where these people would be staying are used to dealing with it. CEO's and other executives, wealthy people, celebrities, etc. all do this. They have someone else make their reservation and probably check-in under an assumed name. Hey, I'd be perfectly happy staying in the econo lodge but according to your own scenario my name is plastered all over the media so I'd need a place/room to stay that was isolated, private and secure.

The same for Warren Buffet's children and grandchildren. He paid for all his grandchildrens' educations. Any school they wanted I believe but that was it.
