Re: What would you do if you won $47 Million?

I'd go to the best hotel in town, have my best friend pretend to be my lawyer, manservant etc. and explain to the hotel manager that his very important and rich client required the utmost security and privacy.

This is far worse than anything I've said. How this doesn't get flamed is beyond me!
Sidenote: Strangely, there was a show on I think VH1 last night about celebrities blowing huge wads of cash. MC Hammer chimed in at #2 while blowing (strangely enough) $47MM (when he was only worth $33MM), in 6 years from 1990 to 1996. They said at one point he had 250 "friends" working for him.
I seriously think everyone is greatly underestimating how giving money to your friends could drastically backfire. I'd be much more inclined to spend money on my buds in the form of me calling them up and inviting them out to a club room at the basketball game and things like that. Just sporadic adventures and stuff, like group skydiving, paintball...whatever. Stuff that can be costly, but I'd pay for it all. Just straight up giving your friends money can lead to huge problems.
And earlier there was a guy who said he'd "pick his 5 closest friends" and spend $300K on each of them. I simply asked him if he understood how righteously pi.ssed off his 6th closest friend would be, and he never replied. Strange.
Think about getting married, and asking 5 buddies to be gooomsmen, and 2 "lesser friends" to be ushers. That gesture alone can be dicey. Now imagine giving the 5 groomsmen $300K each and giving the ushers nothing.
