If you can, I would download these on a different computer and then transfer them to your laptop via a USB flashdrive, cd-rw, floppy, etc. You want to avoid using your wireless internet connection while you use these programs, as the worms/viruses often download more viruses and worms as long as you have an internet connection.
Once you can get your computer online without it going crazy, try the scans at
Housecall. These will scan for viruses and other malware via the internet. One last thing, you may want to look into installing a personal firewall if you don't already have one. I personally use
ZoneAlarm and really like it. This may prevent some infections and will also disrupt the communications of the viruses/worms if you do get infected. Of course, I would also invest in an anti-virus program (Norton, McAfee, or Trend Micro are all good) if you haven't already.
